About me
My name is John Wood, after being in Real Estate for over 10 years and owning my own office for the last four years, being a part of the team at Michaels will only make for great things in the Bundaberg Real Estate market.
Growing up in the country town of Beaudesert just south of Brisbane gave me a large insight to the rural sector. The Beaudesert area was renowned for dairy cattle in the early days then moved more to beef in the later years also a lot of produce i.e. pumpkin, potatoes, Lucerne hay came from this area.
Beaudesert also had one of the largest meat processing plants up until the mid-80s and in those days, I travelled with the cattle buyers to all the major cattle sales and achieved an insight to the cattle industry.
After leaving school in grade 11 I did a sheet metal trade at English Electric at Rocklea Brisbane. This trade eventually helped me travel the world for approximately 5 years. Later in life I moved into transport mainly driving for large companies like Linfox, Cavanah Bros and Pozzalanic Bulk Carriers when I eventually bought my own Kenworth and delivered bulk cement in the Cairns to Cooktown area.
After several years of driving, I decided to sell and move to Bamaga in Cape York for 3 years, in that time we operated the BP Bamaga Service Station. Eventually all good things come to an end and my wife and family moved to Gove in the Northern Territory where we worked as a trainer to the indigenous community training in the operation of machinery on the mine sites.
Upon relocating to Bundaberg in 2007 and deciding to settle here for the long term while the kiddies did their schooling I again started in transport with a local company, until I decided to get back into the Real Estate Market. The rest is history, I have a passion for rural and have basically been doing rural sales for the last 10 years.
